Commercial Director

We are looking for a talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial aspects of our new build education project in Amble, North East England.

The ideal candidate will have experience working on large 2-stage bids, strong knowledge of NEC and JCT conditions, and prior experience of working within the main contractor environment.

Responsibilities:

• Commercial Leadership: Providing commercial leadership on the project.
• Financial Feasibility: Assessing the financial viability of the project at early stages.
• Project Division: Organizing the project into component work packages for procurement.
• Return Evaluation: Evaluating returns from sub-contractors and awarding work packages.
• Negotiation: Negotiating with sub-contractor supply chains to achieve best value.
• Payment Management: Managing applications for payment from sub-contractors and preparing applications for payment to clients.
• Budget Monitoring: Monitoring and measuring actual expenditure against budgeted project expenditure.
• Final Accounts Preparation: Preparing final accounts for the project.

Requirements:

• Large Bid Experience: Prior experience working on large 2-stage bids.
• NEC and JCT Knowledge: Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT conditions.
• Main Contractor Environment: Prior experience of working within the main contractor environment.
• Project Commercial Management: Strong knowledge of project commercial management principles.
• Client and Stakeholder Management: Ability to deal with client representatives, sub-contractors, and internal stakeholders.

Remuneration:

We offer a competitive salary package including an estimated £70,000 - £90,000 per annum, dependent on experience, plus a range of benefits that you can tailor to your needs.
