About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Associate IV to join our team at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the management of our research program and be involved in multiple aspects of our research projects and lab maintenance activities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biological or natural sciences, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant research experience or a related Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant research experience. Strong analytical skills, ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills are essential for this position.

As a Research Associate IV, you will design and perform complex laboratory experiments with a high degree of independence, interpret data, and contribute to writing sections for manuscripts and grants. You will also supervise aides, technicians, and associates and manage daily operations of the laboratory.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and perform complex laboratory experiments with a high degree of independence.
  • Interpret data, form conclusions, and decide on next steps with a high degree of independence.
  • Supervise aides, technicians, and associates.
  • Manage daily operations of the laboratory, including lab personnel, procedures, and projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Biological or Natural Science and 5+ years of relevant research experience or a related Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant research experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills.
