Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to patients with varied conditions and needs. They will also be expected to offer expert advice, guidance, and information to other professionals, carers, relatives, and other non-professionals.

The Physiotherapist will be required to demonstrate sound clinical reasoning and communication skills, as well as the ability to work within a team and use their initiative.

A full valid driving licence and access to a car to use regularly for business purposes is essential (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

Key Duties
  • Provide Physiotherapy to patients within the Integrated ICT and Community Nursing Teams.
  • Assess and treat vulnerable patients with complex needs, patients in crisis, supported discharge from either the acute hospitals or those in intermediate care bed-based units within the community.
  • Act as the patient's advocate throughout their rehabilitation programme and enable patients empowerment through the process.
  • Communicate complex patient-related information effectively and ensure collaborative working with the multidisciplinary team members across health and social care sectors.
  • Use a range of verbal and non-verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with patients to progress rehabilitation and treatment programmes.
  • Identify barriers to effective communication and develop strategies to overcome these barriers.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in line with legal requirements and communicate assessment and treatment results to the appropriate disciplines.
Person Specification
  • Physiotherapy Degree
  • Registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Post-graduate courses
  • Strong post-registration experience
Requirements
  • Experience on a broad rotational scheme
  • Working as an autonomous practitioner
  • Experience of teaching others
  • Experience of participating in investigation/management of complaints.
  • Evidence of participating in clinical audits in the workplace.
Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate where there may be barriers to understanding
  • Experience communicating within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Knowledge of negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and its implications
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to plan and deliver key objectives within strict timetables
  • IT skills, knowledge of word processing and internet
Other
  • Hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010)
