About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Policy Lead to join our team at the CBI (Confederation of British Industry). As a key member of our policy team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the CBI's tax policy agenda and advocating for the interests of our members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Policy Development: Lead the development of the CBI's policy on employment taxes and international taxes, ensuring that our members' voices are heard and their interests are represented.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including HM Treasury, HMRC, and professional bodies, to ensure that the CBI's policy positions are understood and supported.
  • Communication and Lobbying: Develop and implement effective communication and lobbying strategies to promote the CBI's policy positions and influence tax policy decisions.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the policy team to ensure that our tax policy agenda is aligned with the CBI's overall policy objectives.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and Experience: A good knowledge of the tax policy landscape and the tax debate in the UK, as well as a keen interest in tax and economic policy.
  • Qualifications: CTA, ATT, ADIT, ACA, or ACCA qualified (desirable).
  • Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to work at pace.
