Fundraising Lead

FareShare Greater Manchester is the largest food redistribution charity in the region, fighting food poverty and hunger by reducing waste. They source good quality surplus food from retailers and producers, relying on volunteers to help redistribute it to almost 300 frontline charities.

This role will help develop relationships with funders and supporters to secure ongoing financial support, build the FareShare Greater Manchester brand, and engage more followers to broaden and deepen their positive impact.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, be self-motivated and highly organised, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a fundraising strategy in collaboration with the leadership team.
  • Research prospective funders and write funding bids.
  • Review initiatives for individual giving and develop strong relationships with existing funders.
  • Produce reports for funders and the Senior Team & Trustees.
  • Liaise with the wider team to deliver campaigns, events, and appeals.

Essential Experience:

  • Experience working in a fundraising role, including prospect research, donor outreach, and relationship building.
  • Experience raising funds through trusts and foundations.
  • Knowledge of using online/digital platforms for fundraising and communication.
  • Excellent admin skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Solid project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Able to present and assess data effectively.
  • Strong IT competence, including Microsoft Office programmes and databases.
  • Numerate with high levels of accuracy.
  • Willing to travel in the Greater Manchester area.
