About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Connect Healthcare Rotherham CIC. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals in providing extended access services to the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist nurses in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating health promotion programs to promote health and well-being.
  • Help identify appropriate care and treatment plans for patients at risk of developing long-term conditions.
  • Act appropriately in emergency situations and with deteriorating patients.
  • Support patients in adopting health promotion strategies that encourage healthy living and self-care.
  • Deliver opportunistic health promotion and support patients in adopting healthy lifestyles.
  • Care for patients with uncomplicated wounds, following initial assessment by a Registered General Nurse and care plan.
  • Perform venepuncture and sample taking, urinalysis, ear care (dependent on training), and other tasks as required.

Requirements

  • Mandatory training completed annually.
  • Evidenced qualifications in skills and updates, with evidence provided.
  • Care Certificate/NVQs or equivalent.
  • Awareness of the needs of patients with long-term conditions.
  • Knowledge of health promotion strategies, clinical governance issues in primary care, patient group directives, and associated policy.
  • Basic IT skills and use of clinical systems.
