Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team at AWD online. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a variety of additional needs, working closely with teaching and non-teaching staff to provide a high-quality learning experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the evaluation of learning support programs to ensure effective implementation and impact.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student progress records, working closely with class teachers and other professionals to identify areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to reviews of student progress, providing regular feedback and recommendations for support.
  • Assist with special duties, such as providing physical support or maintaining liaison with parents, as specified in student Statements.
  • Provide regular feedback to teachers on student progress, taking into account individual needs and abilities.
  • Support students in developing their skills and knowledge, including language, behavior, reading, spelling, handwriting, and presentation.
  • Assist with class teacher-led programs, developing and implementing suitable support strategies for students with special needs.
Requirements
  • A genuine interest in working with students who have a variety of additional needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other professionals.
  • A good standard of numeracy and literacy, with the ability to communicate complex information effectively.
  • The ability to work flexibly and independently, with a calm and patient demeanor under pressure.
  • Experience in the classroom is an advantage, but not essential.
