About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Clinical Psychologist to join our Older Adult Clinical Psychology department in North Wales. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference for people accessing Memory Assessment and Older People's Community Mental Health Services.

The successful candidate will provide specialist clinical input and support to both the Memory Assessment Service (MAS) multidisciplinary team and the Older People's Community Mental Health Team (OPMH CMHT). They will deliver psychological and neuropsychological assessments, specialist pre and post-diagnostic counselling, psychological intervention, formulation, and group work.

The post-holder will also facilitate indirect intervention through training, supervision, and team formulation. They will attend clinical MDT, referral, business, and clinical leadership meetings, as well as provide supervision to junior psychologists, assistants, and trainees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist clinical input and support to the Memory Assessment Service (MAS) and Older People's Community Mental Health Team (OPMH CMHT)
  • Deliver psychological and neuropsychological assessments, specialist pre and post-diagnostic counselling, psychological intervention, formulation, and group work

Requirements

  • DClinPsy Qualification (or equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 or those trained overseas)
  • Significant post-qualification experience within Older Adults
  • Experience of taking full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care, with experience of co-ordinating care within the context of multi-disciplinary care-planning
  • Experience of specialised psychological assessment and treatment of a range of clients across a wide range of care settings

Desirable

  • Experience of teaching, training, and/or supervision
  • Knowledge of the theory and practice of at least two specialised psychological therapies
