Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Slinger and Banksman to join our team in Portsmouth. As a key member of our Slinging and Fleeting team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of heavy loads within our maritime and facilities environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
  • Conduct pre-use checks on equipment and plant to ensure they are in a safe and useable condition.
  • Undertake lifting operations using various lifting equipment, including chain blocks, and ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant site rules and regulations.
  • Assist in creating risk assessments, pre-use check sheets, and standard/complex lift plans.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure the smooth operation of lifting and moving operations.
Requirements
  • NVQ 2/3 or equivalent qualifications/experience.
  • CPCS/NPORS certification or equivalent.
  • Understanding of LOLER, PUWER, and BS7121.
  • Experience of general lifting operations using various lifting equipment within a maritime and facilities environment.
