People Plus Independent Living Services is a dynamic organization that empowers individuals with autism to live independently and thrive in their communities.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting an individual with autism to access leisure activities, social attractions, and to develop their daily living skills.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Establish a strong and trusting relationship with the individual, built on empathy and understanding.
  • Support the individual to plan and manage their time effectively, making informed decisions about their daily activities.
  • Encourage and facilitate the individual's participation in leisure activities and social events, promoting social interaction and community engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with the individual to develop and implement personalized support plans, ensuring their needs are met and their goals are achieved.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with individuals with autism or similar disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with individuals and their families.
  • Patience, understanding, and a non-judgmental approach, with a commitment to promoting the individual's autonomy and independence.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to changing circumstances.
Working Hours:

12 hours per week, with a flexible schedule that includes 6 hours of weekday work and 6 hours of weekend work. Competitive hourly rate of £11.70 per hour for weekdays and £12.70 per hour for weekends.
