Job Title: Contractor's Responsible Engineer (CRE) – Leeds/York Area – Transpennine Route Upgrade East

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced CRE-Construction Civils to deliver Lineside Ancillary Civils Infrastructure, Footbridge Construction, and Culvert remedial works on a large multidisciplinary electrification project. The successful candidate will be confident in managing multiple stakeholders and relish implementing engineering strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Liaison with Designers: Regular liaison with designers to ensure designs are efficient and safe to build.
  2. Client Liaison: Regular contact with the client to progressively assure designs, including participation in IDC/IDRs.
  3. Review and Approval: Review submissions for quality, sufficiency, and adherence to relevant standards, and approve detailed construction methodologies produced by the project teams.
  4. Inspection and Test Plans: Approval of inspection and test plans produced by the project teams.
  5. Engineering Support: Assist team members CEM / QS / PM as required with engineering input.
  6. Site Visits: Attend site as required to liaise with Site Managers and Engineers.
  7. Temporary Works Coordinator: Act as the temporary works coordinator.
  8. Quality Assurance: Ensure Quality benchmarks are maintained at a high standard.

Requirements:

  1. CRE Experience: CRE experience in station environment.
  2. Education: BEng or MEng.
  3. Civil Engineer: Civil Engineer with membership of professional institute (Desirable).
  4. Rail Experience: Strong experience working on rail projects.
  5. Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of NR/L2/RSE/02009 and NR/L2/CIV/003.
  6. Design Management: Experience managing design development.
  7. Industry Standards: Knowledge of BS5975:2019.
  8. Computer Skills: Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other design-based software such as AutoCad.
