About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Forecasting Analyst to join our Merchandising team at the John Lewis Partnership. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating accurate demand forecasts at item-location level, which will be critical in ensuring the successful delivery of our Operational and Trading plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own a group of products within one of our Category groups and be accountable for ensuring the future demand forecasts are an accurate representation of future customer demand.

  • Analyse complex data sets using data mining tools to predict outcomes by finding anomalies, patterns, and correlations within large data sets.

  • Take decisive action in response to changes in trading conditions, using data, judgment, and knowledge of the category, to optimise outcomes.

  • Create forecasting models and optimise demand forecasts for events, both national and local (e.g. Christmas and Wimbledon).

Essential Skills

  • You will have proven experience in using data for analysis and decision making.

  • A strong communicator and influencer with experience of managing relationships with suppliers, customers, or stakeholders.

  • An understanding of Retail, FMCG categories, and end-to-end stock flow.
