About the Role

We are seeking an experienced PHP Developer to join our team at Digital Waffle, a creative organisation based in the Birmingham area. As a PHP Developer, you will be responsible for developing high-quality code written in PHP and JavaScript, applying best practices and patterns in relation to coding, security, testing, scalability, and performance.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in developing with PHP, preferably using CodeIgniter. You should be familiar with object-oriented design, design patterns, and best practices. Commercial use with CMS, such as WordPress or similar, is also a requirement.

As a PHP Developer at Digital Waffle, you will play a key part in understanding client requirements and working with them to design a solution. You will be responsible for developing new modules and enhancing existing features for our SaaS-based products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality code written in PHP and JavaScript
  • Apply best practices and patterns in relation to coding, security, testing, scalability, and performance
  • Work with clients to understand their requirements and design a solution

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in developing with PHP, preferably using CodeIgniter
  • Familiarity with object-oriented design, design patterns, and best practices
  • Commercial use with CMS, such as WordPress or similar

We offer a competitive salary of £40-£50k and a hybrid working arrangement, with the option to work from home or in our office in the Birmingham area.
