NHS Professionals offers a unique opportunity for a skilled and compassionate Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to join their team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This challenging and rewarding role involves providing a clinical pharmacy service to the gastroenterology ward on a rotational basis. As a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting the provision and development of a holistic, specialist pharmaceutical care service to patients receiving high-risk, high-cost medication delivered via Homecare services.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clinical pharmacy services to the gastroenterology ward, including individual prescription review and optimization, confirmation of patient medication history, and provision of advice on dosage, side effects, cautions, and monitoring requirements.
  • Supporting the services provided to outpatients and endoscopy, and providing a clinical pharmacy service to the daycase unit.
  • Participating in ward rounds and clinical meetings to provide pharmaceutical advice to prescribers and other healthcare professionals.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Qualified to Master's Degree level (MPharm or equivalent)
  • Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Post Graduate Diploma/MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent
  • Clinical experience within gastroenterology/hepatology is highly desirable
