Senior Mechanical and Piping Manager

On Line Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical and Piping Manager to lead our engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute departmental strategies to drive business growth and improve efficiency.
  • Manage bid processes, including tender preparation and cost estimation.
  • Monitor staff requirements and develop plans to attract and retain top talent.
  • Oversee the progress of departmental projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and budget adherence.
  • Lead performance monitoring and evaluation of personnel to ensure high-quality work products and continuity of design methods.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance departmental competencies.
  • Conduct routine performance appraisals and provide feedback for growth and development.
  • Demonstrate customer focus and technical expertise in setting design specifications and driving technical assurance and safety.
  • Ensure adherence to OLG Engineering procedures, specifications, and standards.
  • Review and approve timesheets, holidays, and expenses for departmental personnel.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including fabrication and operations teams.
  • Undertake inspection reports and constructability reviews to ensure safe and efficient designs.
  • Act as the client's engineer and technical authority.
  • Provide technical support to the project group.
  • Attend internal review activities and inter-discipline check meetings.

    Key Skills and Competencies:

    • Evidence of work winning and experience in multi-discipline and EPC environments.
    • Ability to estimate design and engineering hours and fabrication and installation budgets.
    • Proven track record of building and retaining dynamic engineering teams.
    • Proficient in design tools such as Autocad Plant 3D, creation of CATs and specs, Navisworks Manage, and clash detection.
    • Good working knowledge of ASME codes B31.3/4, standards, and specifications.
    • Chartered with IMechE with a design engineering bias.
    • Self-motivated with no supervision, but works effectively as part of a multi-discipline team.
    • Accepts ownership, is accountable, and delivers on commitments.
