Maintenance Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at KPJ Group in Stockport. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing production and site service assets to ensure optimal performance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide engineering support to production teams across various operations
  2. Maintain and repair production and site service assets
  3. Perform preventive maintenance (PPM) and breakdown repairs
  4. Fault diagnosis on automated systems
  5. Record maintenance and quality data accurately
  6. Collaborate with shift managers, process engineers, quality team, and production operators
  7. Drive continuous improvement and root cause analysis
  8. Participate in planned maintenance schedules and contribute to efficiency improvements
  9. Perform line changeover activities and support SMED programs
  10. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards
  11. Mentor engineering apprentices and support new product and capital projects
  12. Operate production assets when needed to cover for production personnel
Requirements:
  1. Multi-skilled with strong electrical and mechanical skills
  2. Experience in the food FMCG or equivalent process industry
  3. A recognised electrical qualification
  4. Knowledge of lean methods and tools
  5. The ability to read and interpret technical documentation
  6. Strong IT skills
