Main Responsibilities:

You will be part of the Physician Associate team in Postgraduate Medicine and Public Health, undertaking teaching, learning, and assessment duties.

Your primary tasks will include designing engaging teaching activities, setting and marking formative and summative assessments, and providing academic administration to coordinate module delivery and assessment.

As a personal tutor, you will offer academic and pastoral support to students and facilitate direct communication with them and other departments within and external to the University.

You may be required to support placement provision and engage with external stakeholders and partners.

You will attend and contribute to Programme Committee Meetings, Programme Team Meetings, and other subject group meetings and working groups as needed, as well as attend Module Boards of Examiners when required.

Additionally, you will act as a project supervisor for postgraduate programmes, commensurate with your qualifications, and contribute to programme reviews and the revalidation/accreditation of courses, quality assurance, and enhancement processes.

You will also participate in admissions interviews, Open Days, induction events, and other activities to promote and recruit students to the programme.

As an educator, you will engage in research and scholarly activities, as appropriate.

Skills and Experience Required:

You must possess sufficient breadth or depth of knowledge to work within established teaching programmes.

It is essential to have an appreciation and understanding of the educational needs of students, an understanding of their prior learning experiences, and how these might influence their current educational expectations.

You will need to be proficient in English Language, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to communicate effectively, clearly, and supportively with both students and academic colleagues.

You must also be able to deal with conflicting demands and priorities, work effectively on your own initiative and as part of a team, have excellent organisational and planning skills, and excellent IT skills.

Commitment to reflective practice and continual improvement, as well as a commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, are also essential.

Qualifications Required:

A minimum of an undergraduate degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience is necessary.
