Job Title: Supply Chain Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supply Chain Manager to join our team at Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Transactional, Receipt and Distribution and Supply Chain teams, providing a daily logistics service and transactional activity to the Trust. The postholder will ensure that the Trust's wards and departments receive an excellent service, with all necessary goods delivered to meet patient care requirements.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage the supply chain process, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods to all clinical areas.
  • Develop and implement plans to optimize the service, including coordination with NHS Supply Chain and Category Managers.
  • Act as line manager to the Materials Management Supervisor and RDC Supervisor, and provide support to the Buyer Team leader and Transactional Team.
  • Manage audits of Department work activities, including overstocking, sterility checks, and stock turnover rates.
  • Ensure a clear audit trail for all goods delivered into the hospital, utilizing systems and resources for efficient and traceable deliveries.
Requirements
  • Holder of Advanced Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS level 5/6) or similar appropriate professional institute or relevant experience.
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development.
  • Supply Chain Management training.
  • Member of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
Desirable Skills
  • Demonstrable advanced IT skills, including specialist software for materials and contract management.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office suite.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at senior level, including to the Trust Board.
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, communicate, and present complex information and evidence-based data.
