As an Approved Mental Health Practitioner, you will work full-time in the Duty Service, carrying out Mental Health Act Assessments and providing a strong social work and social care perspective to the team.

The salary for this permanent position is up to £53,088 per annum.

  • Carry out Mental Health Act Assessments as an autonomous practitioner and consider the least restrictive options.
  • Complete assessment and recommendation paperwork in accordance with the Mental Health Act and upload to the patient record.
  • Provide a social care expert perspective to the team and act as a specialist in Mental Health Act legislation.
  • Maintain AMHP warranting requirements, including continuing professional development.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation and case law, including The Care Act 2014.
  • Participate in the rota system and respond to emergency situations when required.
  • Ensure personal and professional development as an AMHP and maintain the AMHP warrant for the borough.
  • Work positively as a member of the team with Social Services and other agencies.
  • Investigate complaints as directed and identify safeguarding issues.

Requirements:

  • A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
