About the Role:

This is a unique opportunity to join Thermo Fisher Scientific as an EHS Specialist II at our manufacturing site. You will be at the forefront of ensuring environmental, health, and safety compliance, with a strong emphasis on chemical management. Your role will be pivotal in driving sustainability improvements and supporting the execution of ambitious projects within a world-class team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Coordinate the timely review of EHS compliance requirements, particularly focusing on chemical management.
  2. Support alignment and accurate record keeping using the CMMS & Eco Online management systems.
  3. Assist in EHS committee meetings by drafting minutes and supporting action planning.
  4. Attend meetings with EHS contractors and project teams, coordinate logistical aspects, and assist with facilitating EHS improvements as part of NPI's.
  5. Manage project-specific training and the setup, maintenance, and archival of EHS regulatory files.
  6. Provide briefings and toolbox talks on request to teams and support proactive alignment with the site EHS training plan to achieve targets.

Keys to Success:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field such as Biology, Chemistry, or Engineering preferred.
  2. NEBOSH certification required.
  3. Ability to proactively anticipate and resolve regulatory questions to meet expected timelines for regulatory requirements.
  4. Ability to lead and facilitate projects to conclusion, adapt to changes in the work environment and demonstrate flexibility.
  5. Ability to multi-task while keeping company objectives in mind and demonstrate appropriate sense of urgency with regards to addressing high-risk compliance issues, managing risk proactively.
