Bids/Proposals Engineer Electrical/Controls Engineering

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bids/Proposals Engineer to prepare proposals for our electrical/controls engineering projects, specifically Automotive Body Shop Automation projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Generate costs for technical solutions presented
  • Work with the Applications team to understand their scope of supply and develop best costs
  • Collaborate with the strategic procurement team to develop best costs
  • Conduct cost-based research and analysis
  • Identify and mitigate cost risks
  • Manage the bid process from receipt of RFQ to submission
  • Ensure costs and proposal documents meet internal Leidos processes and gateways
  • Develop proposals with key stakeholders
  • Work as part of a bid team and adapt to ensure workload is prioritized

Requirements

  • Experience in preparing bids for electrical/controls engineering work
  • Commercial acumen and highly organized
  • Excellent MS Office skills and ability to read CAD drawings
  • Good technical literacy and ability to converse with other internal departments
  • Ideal qualifications include an engineering degree or equivalent experience
