Senior Highway Asset Engineer Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Highway Asset Engineer to join our team at CV Library. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a leading consultancy whose talented people are passionate about creating innovative and sustainable places.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering detailed designs for minor and major highway schemes and traffic management projects. This will require an in-depth knowledge of 3D highways design, processes, and requirements for delivery of construction drawings and workable highway designs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and deliver detailed designs for highway maintenance and improvement scheme designs in accordance with the DMRB using AutoCAD and Civils 3D.
  2. Produce highways 3D Engineering designs from 2D layouts including existing and proposed models, cross section, long section, and contours.
  3. Conduct liaison or consultation with statutory authorities or undertakers as necessary to implement the construction of the project.
  4. Provide support within the Highways Team in the management and delivery of the service to our clients.
  5. Production and checking of drawings (AutoCAD).
  6. Communicating with suppliers, clients, contractors, and other engineers within the company.
  7. Support other Project Centre employees with technical advice on Highway Engineering projects.
  8. Ensuring that projects are delivered on time and to budget.
  9. Lead on projects ensuring the company and the Highways team deliver the agreed commissions and that Client expectations are met or exceeded.
  10. Lead the engineering input at all stages of a project from conceptual design, through the project cycle to site monitoring.
  11. Support junior staff with their training and development.
Requirements:
  1. Accredited degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  2. In-depth understanding of Highway Design and standards.
  3. Knowledge of engineering design, related legislation, contract procurement, and contract administration.
  4. Demonstrate knowledge and experience of developing feasibility and preliminary design to traffic/local roads problems which include Alignment, Drainage, Pavement, Road Restraint System, Road Signs & Markings.
  5. Good project management skills and financial management.
  6. Strong knowledge of design computer programmes including Civils 3D and AutoCAD.
