Culinary Team Lead

We are seeking an exceptional individual to fill the role of Senior Cook at Nichols College. This is a full-time position in our hospitality and tourism department.
Job Summary:The Senior Cook will be responsible for preparing daily meals for the Food and Nutrition Services Department, adhering to production cycles, recipes, and Delaware Food Code standards. Key responsibilities include documenting food temperatures, completing production sheets, and monitoring quality control and safety/sanitation compliance.
Essential Functions:The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Applies food service principles and practices governing food preparation activities, ensuring proper storage and temperature control, cleaning kitchen equipment and utensils, and complying with safety and sanitary standards.
- Operates commercial kitchen equipment, including dishwashers, ovens, toasters, meat slicers, choppers, deep fryers, food processors, steam pots, blenders, and mixers.
- Prepares and cooks a variety of food items by baking, frying, and broiling, gathering and measuring ingredients according to standardized menus/recipes and dietetic guidelines.
To succeed in this role, applicants must demonstrate three years of experience in institutional or commercial cooking and baking, as well as six months of experience in proper safety, storage, and sanitation standards for food items.
Estimated annual salary: $45,000 - $60,000 based on location and industry standards.
