About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Software Engineer to join our team. As a Principal Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating complex software systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Develop Software Systems: Work on the design, development, and integration of complex software systems, including DSP audio filters and algorithms.
  • Embedded Solutions: Design, develop, and integrate DSP embedded solutions, ensuring high-quality design and code delivery within agreed timescales.
  • Testing and Verification: Develop and deliver high-quality tests within agreed timescales, ensuring customer acceptance of Renesas solutions with proven and measurable compliance to specifications.
  • Technical Leadership: Drive, regulate, and prioritize activities to ensure timescales and goals are met, and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
  • Code Optimization: Reduce code maintenance and increase code reuse through optimization techniques.

Requirements:

  • DSP and Embedded Systems: Excellent knowledge of DSP, MCU, IC, and audio codec architectures, as well as embedded architectures and real-time embedded software.
  • Programming Skills: Fluent in real-time embedded C/C++ programming with in-depth knowledge of DSP algorithm development, and good competency in Python and/or MATLAB.
  • Debugging and Troubleshooting: Good debugging skills, and experience with issue-tracking tools such as JIRA.

Desirable Experience:

  • Audio and Digital Filtering: Good knowledge and experience in audio, digital filtering, and portable audio applications such as headphones and wireless earbuds.
  • Low-Power and Low-Latency Solutions: Good experience in optimizing DSP solutions for low footprint, low latency, and low power applications.
  • Team Leadership: Previous team leading or technical leading experience, and familiarity with CI tools such as Jenkins.
  • SystemC and Other Tools: Experience using SystemC and other relevant tools.
