About the Role:

The University of Oxford is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Associate Professor in Japanese Law and Society. The successful candidate will be part of the Oxford School of Global and Area Studies (OSGA) and will contribute to the Faculty of Law at the University of Oxford.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach and supervise undergraduate and graduate students in Law and OSGA
  • Contribute to the development of curricula and participate in teaching and supervision
  • Engage in research and contribute to the School's and University's international reputation for research excellence
  • Act as a College Adviser for graduate students and serve as a Trustee at St Antony's College
Requirements:
  • Doctorate in a relevant field
  • Outstanding research record and publication portfolio on topics related to Japanese Law and Society
  • Fluency in Japanese language and ability to work with primary/Japanese language source material
