Job Summary
Ventula Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Data Protection and Compliance Officer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation and maintenance of data protection and corporate compliance policies across the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance and Governance
- Ensure compliance with Group policies and standards, as well as relevant legislation, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- Advise on the application of legislation to the business, including changes in EU and UK law that may affect the company.
- Data Protection and Compliance
- Be the direct point of contact for external bodies and stakeholders, such as the ICO, on matters relating to data protection.
- Ensure the continuing implementation and upkeep of data protection and corporate compliance policies.
- Ensure the continuing awareness of data protection and other corporate compliance requirements throughout the organization, including designing, organizing, and delivering training.
- Documentation and Audits
- Own and ensure maintenance of centralized documentation of activities in relation to data processing, data sharing, and data storage, as well as documentation relating to corporate compliance matters.
- Conduct internal data protection and corporate compliance audits.
- Incident Response and Data Subject Rights
- Lead and investigate incidents involving personal data, including data protection breaches.
- Manage and respond to data subject rights requests received into the organization.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Advise internal teams, with the help of the Legal team, on compliance with data protection legislation and corporate compliance requirements.
- Assist with, review, and advise on DPIAs by working closely with the business to deliver the best possible outcome from a privacy perspective.
- Keep General Counsel apprised of key developments in transactions and any relevant issues.
Requirements
- Strong Communication Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating and reporting priorities, vulnerabilities, and risks.

- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- Ability to interpret, make relevant, and implement current data protection legislation and developments.
What We Offer
Ventula Consulting offers a competitive salary up to £80k per year, plus pension, bonus, and package. This is a wonderful opportunity to join one of the UK's leading infrastructure providers. Initially, this role is for an initial 12-month FTC. The location is 3 days a week in either the Southampton office with 2 days a week WFH.
