Proving Test EV Technician

We are seeking a skilled Proving Test EV Technician to join our team at Jonathan Lee Recruitment. As a Proving Test EV Technician, you will be responsible for various powertrain installation projects for off-highway machines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a range of off-highway vehicles, including hydraulic excavators, back-hoe loaders, telehandlers, and track type tractors.
  • Instrument powertrains installations with thermocouples, pressure transducers, speed pickups, and other forms of sensors.
  • Perform safe and defect-free assembly of parts and components using various hand, power tools, and lifting equipment.
  • Manufacture parts from drawings using in-house facilities, including machining, welding, and fabrication, and a fully equipped electronics lab.
  • Diagnose and fix a range of faults on both powertrains and machines.
  • Produce electrical looms to interface powertrains and machines.
  • Work from engineering drawings, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical/electronic systems.
  • Good working knowledge of powertrains and machines.
  • Hands-on mechanical/electrical skill set and ability to use a variety of hand tools, lifting, and welding equipment.
  • Good working knowledge of instrumentation and its application.
  • Applicants will ideally have an engineering or motor mechanics apprenticeship and some relevant work experience.
  • Working towards or completed some form of relevant higher education (NVQ Level 3).
