About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Wagamama. As a key member of our kitchen management team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our back of house operation, ensuring the quality of our food, managing inventory, and developing and growing our junior chefs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the kitchen management team to maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.
  • Manage inventory, labour, and rotas to optimize kitchen efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and grow junior chefs, providing training and guidance to ensure they meet Wagamama standards.
  • Work closely with the kitchen management team to implement the Wagamama way, including kaizen principles and fresh food philosophy.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive kitchen environment, promoting teamwork and respect among colleagues.

Requirements

  • Experience managing or supervising a kitchen team and taking ownership of your role through positive behaviors and actions.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to have real conversations with consideration and care.
  • Experience in supporting food, health, and safety standards, as well as financial performance and labour management.
  • Passion for creating an inclusive environment where colleagues feel respected and valued.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team to nourish and flourish in their roles and careers.
