Data Business Analyst Senior

The role of the Senior Data Business Analyst is a multifaceted position that requires a blend of technical, analytical, and soft skills. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a techno-functional role within a data function or data programs/projects.
Key Responsibilities- Define, design, and support key aspects of the implementation of data analytics products and solutions that inform strategic decisions.
- Support data governance standards and lead prototyping of sophisticated data solutions and reporting products/MI and dashboarding.
Utilize complex SQL, Excel, Python, and Power BI to perform advanced data analysis and prototyping to bring to life ideas and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
Data Solutions DesignDesign and define data solutions, complex calculations, and processes with the support of Data Architect and business stakeholders.
Analytical Process ImprovementAssess and enhance data analysis processes for increased efficiency and accuracy.
Data ModellingDevelop and utilize data models, define conceptual designs of data structures and models specifically Star Schema Designs to support the business's analytical needs and extend the data warehouse.
Insightful RecommendationsProvide recommendations based on data analyses that influence key business decisions and solution design.
Data GovernanceEnsure adherence to data governance framework, support implementation of specific areas of framework, define procedures to maintain data integrity and compliance, and support specific initiatives in partnership with Data Governance teams.
Reporting, Visualization, and Data StorytellingUse data visualization tools to create reports that communicate complex data in an understandable manner, have experience and understanding of displaying data effectively to design compelling reports and dashboards that help convey insight for improved decision making.
Training, Presentation, and LeadershipTrain colleagues and business users on the usage of data products and present confidently on outputs of data analysis and reports.
Quality AssuranceRun quality assurance, recons, UAT on data projects and data solutions designed to ensure the reliability of data sources, calculations, and specifications produced.
Project CollaborationCollaborate with business teams, project managers, architects, and technical leads to ensure successful project implementation.
Essential qualifications, skills, and experience include:
- Experience in Commercial Insurance experience, Specialty Lloyds Insurance industry experience would be a preference.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Solid hands-on experience with SQL, familiarity with a range of data modelling approaches, and Python (Bonus).
- Hands-on experience in designing data solutions, reports, calculation logic, data processes, dashboards.
- Experience in working with Data Warehousing projects and knowledge and experience of Kimball star schema dimensional modelling.
- Strong data analysis, problem-solving, information analysis, attention to detail with a flexibility of approach.
- The ability to deal with business functions and interpret their thoughts into successful data & analytics solutions.
- The ability to analyze and design BI/MI solutions in line with agreed architectural principles.
- Strong interest in latest data engineering technologies, establishing best practices, techniques, and trends in the data industry.
