Job Description: Laboratory Assistant - Biochemistry Role

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our team in the Biochemistry department at the Birmingham Women's Hospital site. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality laboratory services, working closely with experienced scientists and healthcare professionals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures, including those related to Haematology and Blood Transfusion. You will work in rotation with other staff members across various sections of the department, participating in a 24/7 shift rota over a 7-day working week.

To be considered for this role, you will need a BSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent, along with registration with the HCPC. Post-registration experience in a UK Haematology/Blood transfusion department is essential, with greater than 2 years of post-registration experience being highly desirable.
