About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Machine Shop Team Leader to join our team at MTL Advanced Ltd. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for leading a team of machine operators and ensuring the smooth operation of our machine shop.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to program and operate CNC machinery
  • Supervise machine operators and make real-time adjustments to optimize production
  • Report and document any discrepancies in operations, including maintenance faults
  • Generate detailed shift handovers and oversee process changes within the team and department
  • Attend meetings for production and contract updates as required
  • Write CNC milling programs for all machines as needed
  • Set up and develop new and existing products on machine centers
  • Assist in the design and development of jigs and fixtures
  • Maintain and control a current program register and tool inventory
  • Create SOPs, setup sheets, and other documents to aid in production
  • General supervision of the Machine Shop and support, coach, mentor, train, and develop team members
About You

We are looking for a candidate with recent and relevant Machine Shop Team Leading or Supervisory experience, as well as experience with precision measurement instruments. You should be able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, have strong math skills for measurements and calculations, and demonstrate excellent manufacturing practices.

You will also need to be able to adapt to changing and challenging requirements, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to remain focused on Quality and consistently reiterate its importance to others.
