Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Autism Support

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at Academics Ltd. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Autism, Speech and Language needs, and other Special Educational Needs.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will assist the class teacher in providing a supportive learning environment for students with Autism, Speech and Language needs, and other Special Educational Needs. You will work closely with the teaching staff, therapists, and support staff to deliver specific interventions that aim to boost students' learning, development, and language acquisition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the class teacher in providing a supportive learning environment for students with Autism, Speech and Language needs, and other Special Educational Needs.
  • Behaviour and pastoral support for students.
  • Take an active role in forward planning with therapists to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
  • Build robust and effective relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Deliver interventions to students with Speech and Language needs in small groups and one-to-one settings.
  • Ensure the safeguarding of students, in line with procedures.
  • Personal care support for students, as required.
  • Attend staff meetings and complete relevant CPD to ensure ongoing professional development.
Requirements:
  • No previous experience is required, but a genuine interest in working with children with Special Educational Needs is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Caring, compassionate, and a good listener.
  • Ability to work 1:1 and in small groups with students.
  • Right to work in the UK is required.

  • Competitive daily rate of £80-£90.
  • Term-time only, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm.
