Job Title: Finance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join our team at Maldon District Council.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Council's Finance Team and work directly with the Chief Finance Officer (Section 151 Officer). As a Finance Manager, you will be responsible for inspiring your team to achieve high performance and making a positive contribution to the delivery of our Medium-Term Financial Plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Finance Team and work closely with the Chief Finance Officer to achieve financial objectives.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the Council's goals and objectives.
  • Manage and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
  • Provide financial advice and guidance to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A good understanding of local government finance and financial regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience of working in a similar role in a local government setting.
