Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Automation Operations Manager to lead our electrical and automation engineering teams in Burton on Trent.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Set and drive strategic objectives, aligning teams with overall business goals and ensuring seamless operations.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee day-to-day running of the electrical and automation teams, managing resource allocation, project timelines, and quality deliverables.
  • Team Development: Lead recruitment, training, and development initiatives for your departments, ensuring teams are equipped to meet industry demands.
  • Continuous Improvement: Spearhead continuous improvement efforts, championing innovation in engineering processes to drive efficiency and quality.
  • Budget Management: Full budgetary control across both departments, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within financial scope.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, ideally as an Automation Operations Manager, with a background in both automation and electrical engineering.
  • A strong technical foundation in control systems, electrical engineering, or automation software (Siemens experience beneficial).
  • Experience in industries such as brewing, pharmaceuticals, food, or FMCG is highly desirable.
  • A strategic thinker who can align technical operations with wider business objectives.
  • Strong project delivery experience is essential.
