Job Title: Void Surveyor

About the Role:

As a key member of the Assets team at Torus Group, the Void Surveyor will deliver a highly professional service focusing on surveying, including D2D, void, asbestos, stock condition, HHSRS, and EPC energy performance surveys. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Carrying out a range of asset management related surveys and managing works on site, with close monitoring of contractor performance, including updating internal systems to ensure accurate records are maintained.
  2. Liaising with customers and/or stakeholders to agree modifications to design briefs and providing technical advice as required.
  3. Being the first point of contact for customer queries and complaints, taking necessary action to resolve issues quickly and efficiently, minimizing formal complaints.
  4. Assessing and supporting minor adaptations to meet the needs of those with disabilities.
  5. Determining the condition of existing buildings, identifying and analyzing defects, including proposals for repair or appropriate action.
  6. Preparing orders for contractors, including prioritizing, costing, and estimating.
  7. Monitoring and ensuring projects are completed on budget, on time, and to a high standard.
  8. Supporting the lettings team with customers and residents to ensure meaningful engagement at handover, managing the customer experience, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  9. Having an excellent working knowledge and experience of construction methods, construction contracts, and relevant legislative health and safety requirements/standards.

Requirements:

  1. Level 4 qualification in Construction or equivalent building experience.
  2. Minimum requirement of P402 Surveying and Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings or equivalent relevant qualification.
  3. DEA Certified to carry out Energy Performance Certification.
  4. Must hold a full current driving license.
  5. Demonstrable experience working in a role carrying out various types of asset management related surveying.
  6. Demonstrate an excellent level of knowledge of supporting the delivery of responsive and planned maintenance, investment, and refurbishment schemes gained through extensive and relevant experience within the construction industry.
