Role Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Heavy Vehicle Technician. As a key member of our workshop team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are safe, reliable, and running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on RCV's waste management and light commercial vehicles.
  • Diagnose and rectify all types of faults within a well-equipped workshop.
  • Ensure all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully and that all precautions are taken whilst on the premises.
  • Liaise with the Workshop manager to attain correct parts.
  • Ensure health & safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to.
  • Ensure all job cards and service sheets are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness.
  • Maintain a thorough and current product knowledge and attend training courses.
Requirements:
  • Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks.
  • High level of technical knowledge and ability in mechanical repair.
  • Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Certification in heavy vehicle mechanics or equivalent qualification.
  • Class C Licence - Desirable but not essential (opportunities for training).
  • Thorough Knowledge of current HGV MOT regulations and standards.
