Cost Management Specialist

At Turner & Townsend, we're passionate about delivering exceptional results for our clients. As a Senior Cost Manager, you'll play a key role in helping us achieve this goal.
Main Responsibilities- Manage commissions of varying sizes, ensuring effective cost management and timely delivery
- Coach junior staff, allocating roles and responsibilities to ensure seamless cost management
- Advise clients on feasibility studies, procurement options, and cost planning
- Manage estimating and cost planning stages, presenting final cost plans to clients
- Tender and procure, managing pre-qualification stages, producing tender lists, and compiling contractual documents
- Conduct contract administration, dealing with post-contract cost variances and change control processes
- Take personal responsibility for peer reviewing cost allowances and conducting valuations on larger projects
- Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to clients
- Negotiate and agree final accounts
- Interface with clients, project managers, and other consultants at all project stages
- Collaborate with Turner & Townsend's project management team during project delivery
- Lead cost management teams, ensuring they deliver on all accountabilities
- Utilize our digital cost management tools and services
- Implement our Embodied Carbon Calculator to produce carbon footprint reports
- Support the execution of our NewLeaf strategy
- Manage internal fees, job costing, and resourcing requirements
- Knowledge management - ensure key information and learning are input into the Turner & Townsend internal database
- Process improvement - identify ways to improve internal systems and processes
- Lead in the support, development, and mentorship of junior staff members
- Manage projects on D365
Senior Cost Managers report to Associate Directors, Project Directors, or Directors, depending on the context.
Key Performance Indicators- Commissions are managed to the right quality standards and completed efficiently and on time
- Service delivery on commissions is in line with the conditions of appointment
- Good relationships are developed with clients and members of the cross-functional team
- They work as an effective member of the cost management team
- Opportunities are identified to develop new business with existing clients
- Margin levels are kept track of on all commissions
- Key information and data are effectively cascaded and appropriately retained
