Accounts Assistant Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our team at IPS Group. As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Finance function and contributing to the smooth operation of our business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Posting and Approval: Accurately post supplier invoices for approval and update the ledger accordingly.
  • Purchase Orders and Supplier Management: Raise purchase orders for approval, place orders with suppliers, and resolve supplier queries via email.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Ensure purchase orders are complete with all required reporting information prior to invoicing, and support the Sales Ledger as needed.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Liaise with the Purchasing Department, Warehouse team, and other teams to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Financial Reconciliation and Administration: Reconcile supplier and intercompany statements on a weekly basis, reconcile the Sage order book with Salesforce on a daily basis, and update intercompany systems as orders are placed and invoiced.
  • Support to Management Accountant: Provide support to the Management Accountant as needed, ensuring the efficient operation of the Finance function.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a purchase ledger or similar finance role.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
