Vehicle Maintenance Specialist

South Central Ambulance Service NHS is seeking a skilled Fleet Engineer to maintain and repair ambulances and other vehicles at our workshop facility in Didcot. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, diagnosing and repairing complex technical issues, and ensuring that all vehicles are in good working order. They will also be required to maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs, and to participate in training and development programs to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.
Main Duties of the Job- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
- Diagnose and repair complex technical issues, including electrical and mechanical problems
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs, including vehicle histories and repair logs
- Participate in training and development programs to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques
- Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives

Person Specification- City and Guilds Motor Vehicle Craft studies parts 1, 2 & 3 or Motor Vehicle Technicians qualification or BTEC equivalents
- Full Driving Licence
- Relevant workshop experience involving all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair
- Organised and methodical approach to work
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
