Occupational Therapist - Acute Ward Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team in an exceptional mental health hospital.

This part-time position involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality occupational therapy services to patients. The successful candidate will conduct thorough assessments, develop person-centered treatment plans, and facilitate group and one-to-one work sessions to promote patient well-being.

  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans to promote patient well-being.
  • Facilitate group and individual work sessions to educate patients on coping strategies and facilitate graded exposure.
  • Work alongside an occupational therapy assistant and provide supervision as needed.
  • Collaborate with nurses, healthcare assistants, psychiatrists, and specialty doctors to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Prioritize ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice to enhance therapeutic interventions.

The salary for this role is approximately £36,000 per annum, depending on experience. Benefits include 25 days annual leave (increasing to 27 days after 5 years and 30 days after 10 years), birthday leave, enhanced maternity pay, contributory pension scheme, support and training throughout your career, flexible working arrangements, and access to Employee Assistance Programme and wellness programs.
