Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Pharmacy Specialist to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work closely with our dedicated pharmacy team to provide and develop specialist clinical pharmacy services to the Respiratory Ward and Respiratory Support Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deputise for the Principal Pharmacist, Medicines Specialities, and provide leadership and guidance to the team.
  • Act as a specialist role model and expert in the medical management of patients within Respiratory wards, providing high-quality clinical pharmacy input to patient care.
  • Lead and manage clinical pharmacy services to the Respiratory Support Unit and respiratory ward, working closely with the Principal Pharmacist to extend the boundaries of professional practice.
  • Act as a pharmacist independent prescriber, where accredited, and provide education and training to healthcare professionals within and outside the Trust.
  • Regularly review and report on financial data, drug usage, and expenditure forecasting, ensuring effective drug budget management.
Person Specification
  • Registered Pharmacist with 1 year of competency-assessed and examined professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Specialist clinical knowledge and skills relevant to the area of practice.
  • Registered Independent Prescriber or willingness to complete.
Contract and Benefits

This is a permanent full-time position with flexible working and compressed hours. The salary is £59,490 to £66,239 per annum, inclusive of HCA.
