Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Production Planner to join our team at Jennifer Griffiths Recruitment. As a key member of our planning and procurement department, you will play a crucial role in coordinating production workflow to ensure timely completion of orders while maintaining high standards of quality control and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in demand planning to predict future stock levels and balance supply and demand
  • Check potential out of stocks and over stocks
  • Progress delivery of purchase orders with vendors
  • Provide information to customers, customer services, and sales team on stock availability
  • Approve shipments from the Far East
  • Update container schedules with latest shipping information, new orders, vessels, and ETAs
  • Check SAFs to ensure stock availability
  • Check vendor invoices and arrange deposit/balance payments to agreed terms
  • Book customer FOB orders through SAP and produce delivery notes/invoices, sending shipping documents to customers

Analysis and Reporting

  • Analyze sales by product reports
  • Review actual sales vs forecast and discuss with sales to amend ongoing requirements
  • Review safety stock levels and update MRP accordingly
  • Supply reports such as supplier spends, sea freight costs, usage, and forecast spends

Weekly Tasks

  • Prepare proposals for vendor orders and check stocks against forecast/actual sales/historical data
  • Calculate stock requirements for container loadings
  • Place orders and agree delivery dates with vendors
  • Complete customer availability reports (BHS/Days)
  • Direct delivery of containers to customers, arranging booking dates/times via customer services/customer, ensuring correct paperwork delivery details are given to forwarders
  • Analyze customer sales reports (epos)
  • Check and update excess lists
  • Check invoices for sea freight to agreed rates

Annual Review

  • Review and grade suppliers

Working Hours and Pay

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm. The salary will range between £23,000-£25,000 per annum.
