Job Summary
Page Personnel Finance is recruiting for a Payroll Service Manager to join our team in Central Manchester. As a key member of our payroll team, you will play a crucial role in establishing and growing our outsourced payroll function.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the Payroll Managed Service, driving operational excellence and promoting professional development.
- Payroll Processing: Demonstrate accurate and timely payroll processing scheduling systems and methodology, building in contingency timescales to meet 100% BACS deadlines at all times.
- Customer Service: Effectively manage customer slippage and late data submission, advising on supplementary pay runs and chargeable re-runs as appropriate.
- Payroll Compliance: Ensure all aspects of payroll processing for the portfolio of managed payroll service clients are completed accurately and within SLA timeframes.
- Client Relationships: Liaise directly with clients to fully understand their payroll needs, build relationships, and manage expectations.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement internal processes and controls to ensure quality, accuracy, and security of payroll services.
- Service Delivery: Meet departmental and service delivery KPIs and quality standards for the team.
- Stakeholder Management: Conduct regular service review meetings with key stakeholders, managing and reporting accuracy statistics by pay period.
Requirements
- Proven Track Record: Have a proven track record in a similar role.
- Payroll Knowledge: Have in-depth knowledge of UK payroll legislation and tax regulations.
- Manual Payroll Calculations: Have knowledge of manual payroll calculations.
- Outsourced Payroll Experience: Previous outsourced payroll or bureau experience would be desirable.
- Payroll Systems: Have good experience working with payroll and HR systems.
- CIPP Qualification: Be CIPP qualified or qualified by experience.
- Communication Skills: Be an excellent written and verbal communicator.
- Time Management: Be able to work to tight deadlines.
