Senior Accountant Role

Salary: Up to £80,000 per annum

Location: Central London

Cobalt Consulting (UK) Ltd requires a highly skilled Senior Accountant to manage the financial and reporting aspects of their UK property portfolio.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in property accounting and experience with accounting systems such as MRI.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze tenant invoices issued by the AR team to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with UK property managers and the internal accounts receivable team to monitor debt payments and develop strategies to optimize collections.
  • Approve property-related invoices for UK/Holdco through the approval system ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct monthly reviews of the AP report to ensure cleanliness and follow-up on any credit items supported by the internal AP team.
  • Ensure timely completion and sign-off of monthly bank reconciliations for UK/Holdco with assistance from the cash management team.
  • Record UK acquisition fund flows in the accounting system to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Prepare quarterly reports including accruals and prepayments for properties to provide stakeholders with up-to-date information.
  • Conduct monthly closing and quarterly preparation tasks to ensure efficient quarter-end closing.
  • Prepare and review statutory accounts liquidity planning budgeting for property and development to inform business decisions.
  • Coordinate with advisors to ensure timely submission of financial statements and tax returns tracking progress and documenting final outputs.
  • Review cash balances for UK/Holdco entities recommending and facilitating quarterly interest payments and dividends while considering working capital and capex needs.
  • Liaise with internal and external teams debt development audit on any portfolio-related queries to provide prompt resolutions.
  • Train and mentor junior staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Get involved in ad hoc projects for other European jurisdictions to expand expertise.
Key Requirements:
  • Accounting Qualification ACCA ACA CIMA.
  • Good experience in property accounting is essential.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems preferably MRI.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with various internal and external teams in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Understanding of the commercial aspects of real estate including capex monitoring property management functions and relevant financial aspects like debt and tax.
