The Role

You will be part of the engine room of our Communications team within Corporate Affairs, developing and delivering critical communications projects.

This includes strengthening and protecting Lloyd's reputation and leadership with various audiences.

  • You will lead communications projects that are multi-stakeholder and multi-channel.
  • You will counsel the Head of Communications on overall communications strategy.
  • You will identify critical organisational insights and package them for target audience groups.
  • You will bring creativity and trend knowledge to new content and channels.
  • You will advise senior leaders on balancing strategic needs with communications strategy.
  • You will spot risks and issues, and mitigate them.
  • You will lead measurement, evaluation, and reporting of communications projects.
Leadership Responsibilities

You will co-lead and manage a team of communications experts.

This includes working closely with Senior Managers in Communications, the Head of Communications, and Chief of Staff.

  • You will ensure the right people are allocated to the right work based on organisational priorities.
  • You will set high standards in Communications outputs and oversee quality of work.
  • You will develop and strengthen relationships with key individuals in the function and across the organisation.
  • You will provide timely and constructive feedback to junior team members.
Skills and Qualifications

Key skills include:

  • A passion for insurance and financial sector knowledge.
  • Excellent writing skills with ability to adapt style and format.
  • Ability to create and commission content from short-form to longer-form.
  • Grasp of impactful speechwriting for senior executives.
  • Passion for communications channels and disciplines.
  • Collegiate approach and proven track record of excellent teamwork.
  • Clear articulate communication with diplomacy and sound judgement.
  • Project management skills with clear objectives, strategy, execution, and evaluation.
Knowledge

Key knowledge areas include:

  • Lloyd's strategy and operating model.
  • Understanding of how communications can strengthen and protect Lloyd's leadership and reputation.
  • Good grasp of the core elements of the Corporate Affairs function.
  • Good grasp of critical stakeholders to reach and engage.
  • Good grasp of communications channels and content.
Experience

Desirable experience includes:

  • Devising and delivering impactful and measurable communications campaigns.
  • Working collaboratively within a team and managing junior team members.
  • Advising internal stakeholders and managing their expectations.
  • Communicating a consistent narrative with global reach.

Estimated salary: £80,000 - £110,000 per annum.
