Job Title: Communications Manager, Financial Services Programme

We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Manager to join our team at Hughes Hall, a leading institution in Cambridge. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a communications strategy for our Financial Services Programme, working closely with the Programme Director and Senior Communications Manager.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a communications strategy for the Financial Services Programme, aligning with the overall goals and objectives of the Initiative.
  • Provide communications support for the Programme, including publishing, distributing, and promoting content across owned channels, ensuring reach and impact through SEO.
  • Prepare press releases, select recipient journalists and editors, and work to place these releases in the media.
  • Write and edit articles to support materials being shared across the Initiative's network.
  • Respond to media enquiries and provide advice and support to optimise impact.
  • Manage the Programme's branding and messaging, aligning with the wider Initiative branding and messaging, and liaising with relevant partners.
  • Support the Programme's schedule of events, promoting attendance and capturing communications assets.
  • Develop an awareness and understanding of the external climate governance and sustainable finance marketplace, keeping up-to-date on other organisations in the same area.
  • Support the Initiative's team with contact management and manage contacts relevant to branding and communications.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in communications, preferably in a financial services or sustainability context.
  • Strong understanding of communications strategy and tactics, including social media, content creation, and media relations.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
