We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our National Markets UK Broker Construction team at Markel. The successful candidate will have experience in Construction Liability underwriting and will be responsible for underwriting new business risks.

The ideal candidate will have good communication skills and experience dealing with clients by email and telephone. They will also be able to actively seek new business prospects utilizing the CRM system in accordance with the CRM Working Practices guide.

As a Senior Underwriter, you will be working in a small but friendly team with big growth plans. You will be responsible for prospecting brokers, attending broker meetings and visits, and writing liability, PI, and contract works within the construction property side.

We offer a great base salary plus a generous quarterly bonus scheme and great company benefits. You will also have the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment between the office and home.

  • Actively seek new business prospects utilizing the CRM system in accordance with the CRM Working Practices guide.
  • Have previous experience within Construction Liability underwriting and/or underwriting portfolios and binders.
  • Good communication skills and experience dealing with clients by email and telephone.
