Procurement Expert

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced electronic-biased Procurement Expert to join our team at ZipRecruiter. The ideal candidate will have extensive purchasing experience, over 10 years of management, and a background in electronics.

The Role

• Negotiate and coordinate the timely and cost-effective supply of all materials, sub-assemblies, and support services to meet operational requirements.
• Promote close liaison with Planning, Sales, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Engineering disciplines to maximize procurement performance.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure cost savings while maintaining quality and reliability standards.
• Optimize the flow of products from various sources to meet operational needs.
• Establish, monitor, and own departmental KPIs to measure performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through sourcing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers based on quality, price, reliability, and delivery speed.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance purchasing processes and overall performance.
• Develop effective purchasing strategies for materials, supplies, and services aligned with business objectives.
• Manage supplier performance through evaluation and relationship building to ensure reliability and quality.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Store teams to maintain a continuous supply of materials.
• Monitor and forecast demand levels to minimize excess inventory.

Requirements

• A relevant engineering qualification, preferably in an electronics field.
• Over 10 years of experience managing a team.
• CIPS Level 6 certification.
• Proficiency in using ERP and MRP tools.
• Knowledge of electronic components and modern procurement practices.
• Excellent negotiation skills and ability to secure favorable terms with suppliers.
• Up-to-date knowledge of logistics and supply chain.

Compensation Package

The compensation package for this position includes a salary range of £55,000–£60,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
