About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Orion Electrotech. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading and managing mechanical design projects from concept through to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Develop and execute detailed project plans, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality designs.
  • Team Management: Mentor and guide a small team of mechanical design engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Design Development: Conduct thorough feasibility studies, simulations, and analyses to validate design concepts.
  • Technical Documentation: Create comprehensive technical drawings, specifications, and documentation using advanced CAD software.
  • Prototyping and Testing: Oversee the prototyping, testing, and iteration processes, ensuring designs meet stringent performance and safety standards.
  • Design Reviews: Facilitate design reviews and provide strategic input on design enhancements and new technologies.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in avionics and mechanical design, integrating best practices into the team's workflow.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: Extensive experience in mechanical design, particularly within the avionics industry.
  • Skills: Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar), excellent understanding of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes relevant to avionics.
