Job Summary

Primus Connect is seeking an experienced Lead Data Engineer to lead a team of talented Data Engineers and drive business performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, Azure, and Databricks technologies, as well as excellent communication skills and experience in technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 6 Data Engineers with a mix of experience from Junior to Senior, coaching and mentoring them to develop their data engineering capabilities.
  • Contribute to the build and development of the data engineering team's skills and expertise.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes and improve data-driven decision making.
  • Develop and implement data engineering solutions using Azure and Databricks technologies.
  • Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with industry standards.

Requirements

  • Excellent data engineering experience with Azure and Databricks technologies.
  • Strong Databricks experience and PySpark skills are essential, certifications are desirable.
  • Strong experience with the Azure Data stack including ADF.
  • Previous experience of technical leadership and/or management of Data Engineers.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in the insurance sector would be of interest but is not required.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary of circa £80,000 - £90,000.
  • Excellent benefits package, including an annual bonus.
  • A hybrid working arrangement with 2 days required per week in the office and the rest able to be worked from home.
